When adding/removing some Z-Wave devices you may need to bring the device closer to the panel to be within range. However, sometimes this is not ideal due to the nature of the devices installation (Ex Locks, In-Wall Switches, Garage, etc.) in these cases, it might be better to bring the panel to the device.

With the Qolsys panel you will need to disable Power Management to use Z-Wave functions on battery only. To do this:

  • Navigate to the Settings Tray and click Settings
  • Click Advanced Settings
  • Enter your Installer Code
  • Click Installation
  • Select Installer Settings
  • Disable Power Management
