Surety Cam Pro (Alarm.com RVM)

Professional Video Monitoring & Proactive Crime Prevention

Surety Cam Pro Overview

Surety Cam Pro turns your cameras into a security alarm system with professional monitoring and police dispatch. When a camera detects an intruder on your property, the monitoring center views the camera remotely, warns the intruder to leave, and sends the police if necessary.

With Surety Cam Pro, intruders can be detected and confronted outdoors, before they even attempt to break into your home or business.

Stop unwanted behavior before it escalates into crime or property loss.

How Surety Cam Pro Works

  1. AI Cameras Detect Intruder: Surety Alarm.com cameras use state-of-the-art artificial intelligence to detect an unexpected person or vehicle and report the event to the monitoring center.
  2. Live Security Guards Engage: Remote video monitoring guards watch the incident through your cameras. If necessary, they talk to the person through the camera’s 2-way audio and verify they’re supposed to be there. If not, they warn the intruder verbally and/or sound a siren.
  3. Verified Police Dispatch: If the security guard determines an intrusion is occurring, they immediately send the police. Because the intrusion is verified by a live guard, the police treat the incident with higher priority and urgency.

Alarm.com Remote Video Monitoring (RVM)

Surety Cam Pro uses Alarm.com Remote Video Monitoring (RVM) to securely give the monitoring center access to view specific cameras when an intruder is detected by Alarm.com’s video analytics. It elevates monitoring center operators from just responding to traditional alarm events to being proactive remote guards that can see what the intruder is doing and verbally confront them before dispatching police.

Other remote security guard solutions falsely identify spiders and trees as people, causing nuisance alarms that waste your time. Alarm.com RVM has an additional layer of intelligence called ClearSight that makes sure only people are identified as people.

Alarm.com remote video monitoring offers key capabilities that make professional video monitoring more manageable and easier to use.

  • Camera Arming: Arm and disarm cameras, and check at-a-glance camera status from the ‍Alarm.‍com‍ app.
  • Exit Delays: Set up exit delays to prevent false alarms when exiting the premises after arming your alarm system.
  • Cancel / Verify: Verify or cancel video monitoring alarm events right in the app, before getting called by the monitoring center.

Camera Compatibility

Surety Cam Pro works visually with any Alarm.com camera that has video analytics. But the remote guard is only able to talk to and verbally warn the intruder if the camera supports 2-way audio.

The following Alarm.com cameras have 2-way audio, letting the guard talk to and warn the intruder:

Comparisons

Surety Cam Pro vs Surveillance Cameras

Traditional surveillance cameras just record video. Some offer remote live viewing and/or notifications based on motion detection or artificial intelligence. They serve as a tool for you to self-monitor your own property. They don’t do the monitoring for you.

With Surety Cam Pro, the cameras are just a piece of the puzzle. The real value comes from having live remote security guards watching your property 24/7 and always ready to respond immediately. It’s an affordable way to get the benefits having live guards on site protecting your property at a small fraction of the cost.

Surety Cam Pro vs Alarm Systems

Alarm systems are great, we highly recommend them! But they’re a better fit for monitoring the inside of your home or building and detecting when a break-in has already occurred. Monitoring the outside of your property with alarm sensors is difficult, expensive, and prone to false alarms.

Surety Cam Pro is designed to detect intrusions outside. It effectively turns your outdoor cameras into smarter “alarm sensors” using AI-powered person and vehicle detection and can easily do things an alarm system can’t, such as:

  • Scare off intruders before they attempt to break in, avoiding unnecessary damage to your property.
  • Confront package theft (porch pirates).
  • Deter car theft and automotive tampering.
  • Stop stalking, peeping, and casing.
  • Prevent loitering, vandalism, and other illegal activity on your property.

Surety Cam Pro works even better with an alarm system, protecting the outside while your alarm system protects the inside. It’s available on it’s own or as an add-on to Surety Protect and Surety Complete, and you get a discount for having both.

Surety Cam Pro vs Video Verification

Video Verification is when the monitoring center operator views your cameras immediately after an alarm has occurred in order to verify it’s not a false alarm before dispatching police.

The purpose of Video Verification is to prevent false alarms from your traditional alarm system.

Surety Cam Pro goes above and beyond Video Verification and actually detects intruders with artificial intelligence in the camera, without an alarm sensor having been tripped.

The purpose of Surety Cam Pro is to detect and confront intruders outside, before they attempt to enter your property.

Video Verification is included in our video alarm monitoring plans, Surety Protect and Surety Complete. Surety Cam Pro is available as an add-on to those alarm monitoring plans. Surety Cam Pro will also be available as a stand-alone video plan enabling professional alarm monitoring without a traditional alarm system and sensors.

Surety Cam Pro vs AI Deterrence

AI Deterrence (AID) is when an artificial intelligence bot confronts and warns the intruder, instead of a live remote guard.

AID will warn the intruder but can’t do anything more, it will not send the police. With Surety Cam Pro a live remote guard will confront the intruder and will send the police if necessary.

AI Deterrence and Surety Cam Pro can be used together for an even stronger response to intrusions. AID will respond faster than a remote guard can, providing an early deterrent that will hopefully scare away or slow down the intruder. Then the Cam Pro live remote guard will take over and handle the situation if the intruder persists.
