Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Firmware Release Information

IQ PANEL 2 & 2 PLUS - 2.8.1 SOFTWARE UPDATE

New Features:
• New Setting for PowerG Outdoor Siren (Activation/Comfort LED) allowing the siren’s LED to stay on continuously.
• Added a new setting for Force Arming - if a sensor is open during arming, and Force Arm is enabled, if/when the sensor is restored, after arming is completed, it will become armed along with the rest of the system.

Fixes/Improvements:
• Added a critical update relating to recovery of cellular connectivity in certain cases where it could become disconnected from the network.
• Improved SRF and PowerG daughtercard discovery after panel reboot or software upgrade.
• Enabled sending and receiving of newer Z-Wave commands supported by Kwikset 620 door lock.
• Improvements to processing of commands for Schlage Z-Wave door locks.
• Updated panel icon for iBlinds Z-Wave devices.
• Corrected an issue that could cause PowerG PIR Cam images to be sent along with the incorrect event if activated during exit delay.
• Enhancements to the Solar UI.
• Corrected behavior for Group 43 & 44 when utilizing EN Grade 2.
• Corrected an issue that could cause IQ Remotes to not pair properly after updating.
• Made improvements to ensure that IQ2 panels properly connect to IQ WIFI6.
• Corrected an issue where the Panel may revert to U.S. Eastern Time Zone (-5 GMT) without an active Alarm.com account, regardless of local time set on the Panel.
• General language translation improvements.

Update Instructions:
Compatibility Note: Your IQ Panel must be on software version 2.0.1 or higher and connected to Wi-Fi to install this update wirelessly. Panels running 2.5.0 & 2.5.1 must be updated to 2.5.3 first, then they can be updated directly to 2.8.1:
1- Swipe down from the top of the screen and touch “Settings"
2- Touch “Advanced Settings”
3- Enter a valid installer code (default is 1111)
4- Touch "Upgrade Software”
5 -Touch “Patch Tag” and enter the patch iqpanel2.8.1 then touch OK
6- Touch “Upgrade Using Network” (panel must be connected to Wi-Fi). Update will download and install
7- Once complete touch “OK” to reboot the panel. DO NOT TOUCH THE SCREEN. The update process will take approximately 5 minutes. After the panel reboots the home screen will appear and the LED will turn green

UPDATE IQ PANEL 2 SOFTWARE VIA SD CARD

If you are not able to update your panel’s software using the Wi-Fi connection, follow the steps below to use an SD card:

Compatibility Note: Your IQ Panel must be on software version 2.0.1 or higher and connected to Wi-Fi to install this update wirelessly. Panels running 2.5.0 & 2.5.1 must be updated to 2.5.3 before they can be updated to 2.8.1

1- Insert a micro SD card into your computer. *(We recommend using a “class 4” or higher micro SDHC card with 4gb-16gb storage space)

2- Click the download link below (we recommend saving it to your desktop)

DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE PATCH

3- Once the file is downloaded:

  • Locate the file called “2.8.1-SD-Upgrade.zip”
  • Right click this file and select “Unzip” or “Open”
  • You should see a folder with three (3) files inside: “2.8.1rc9.20231026_b9_full_upgrade.zip” “release.txt” and “signature”
  • Drag ALL THREE files to your SD card. These are the ONLY files you’ll need, so delete ANY other files
  • Safely remove the SD card from your computer

4- Slide your micro SD card into the slot on the right side of the IQ Panel.

5- Swipe down from the top of the screen and touch “Settings”
6- Touch “Advanced Settings” and enter a valid installer code (default is 1111)
7- Touch “Upgrade Software”
8- Touch “Upgrade Using SD Card”
9- The panel will search the SD Card for the patch and begin downloading it automatically.
10- Once complete touch “OK” to reboot the panel. DO NOT TOUCH THE SCREEN. The update process will take approximately 5 minutes. After the panel reboots the home screen will appear and the LED will turn green.

11- Eject the SD Card:

  • Swipe down from the top of the screen and touch “Settings”
  • Touch “SD Card”
  • Touch “Unmount SD card”
  • Remove the SD Card from the side slot by pushing it in slightly, it should then “spring” back out
