I have an IQ Panel 4 and a IQ Remote PG that are both on software version 4.3.0. Could you please provide the exact procedure for me to upgrade both devices to the latest version which I think is 4.5.1?
Thanks
Hello,
First you will update your IQ Panel 4 with the instructions below from this link:
- Swipe down from the top of the screen and touch “Settings"
- Touch “Advanced Settings”
- Enter a valid installer code (default is 1111)
- Touch “Upgrade Software”
- Touch “Patch Tag” and enter the patch iqpanel4.5.1 then touch OK
- Touch “Upgrade Using Network” (Panel must be connected to Wi-Fi). Update will download and install
- Once complete touch “OK” to reboot the Panel. DO NOT TOUCH THE SCREEN. The update process will take approximately 5 minutes. After the Panel reboots the home screen will appear and the LED will turn green
Then, with WiFi enrollment, the IQ remote will automatically update upon enrollment:
- Enable Wi-Fi on the IQ Remote PowerG (same Wi-Fi network as the
primary panel). - From primary panel, start process for pairing IQ Remote using Wi-Fi.
- Press “Wi-Fi Pair” on IQ Remote PowerG enrollment page.
- The remote will connect and start looking for software updates (if a
new software exists, it will download and install it then go to home
page).
Thanks Ryan, 2 questions. Since I am on 4.3.0 do I need to go to 4.2.x first before going to 4.5.1?
Also, my IQ Remote PG is already paired via wifi, do have to re-pair after updating the main panel?
Thanks
Hello,
4.3.0 is the minimum to be able to pair and auto-update the IQ remote, so that should work.
When the primary panel updates, the IQ Remote should then update as well. They should stay paired.
Thanks the reason I asked is I thought I read on the forum that I had to go to 4.4.2 before I could go to 4.5.1.
Hello,
Good catch, you are correct! My apologies for the confusion. To get to the latest firmware, your panel needs to first be on version 4.4.0 or higher. Since your panel is currently on version 4.3.0, you can update to 4.4.2 next, and then move to version 4.5.1.
The update process remains the same, but for version 4.4.2, you’ll use the patch tag “iqpanel4.4.2.”
Ok thanks
What happens if you jump updates and go straight to 4.5.1? I think I was on sub-4.3.0 and used the 4.5.1 patchtag by accident. The panel seemed to have updated but does it cause bugs?
Cant say ive seen issues per se, just a general inability to update of not doing so incrementally as stated in the official patch notes found below:
