Can I use existing wired sensors with IQ Pro?

My house was built in 2018 and the low-voltage contractors installed a basic wired security system that we never used. My understanding is that this is an Alarm.com system as that’s who they used at the time.

I have a wired motion sensor, siren, 3x wired in-door sensors and a keypad. I do not have a panel in the basement, the cables are all just bundled up and not connected to anything. I understand that I would need to replace the keypad but is there any chance that I could use the other existing hardware with an IQ Pro panel?

Here are some pictures if it’s helpful.

One of the in-door entry sensors (ignore the ring magnet, we’re ditching our Ring system):

And the wires where they terminate:

I’m happy to provide any more info or pictures if it would be helpful.

thanks!

Looking at the pictures you provided, those wired devices, aside from the keypad, can be used with an IQ Pro.

You can also use something like the IQ Panel 4 along with an IQ Hardwire PowerG, which converts them into a wireless signal that the panel can receive.

The IQ Pro and IQ Hardwire PowerG both have a siren terminal, so you can use the siren that was installed as well.

Steps for getting started with an IQ Pro can be found here:

You are awesome, thank you so much for the quick reply and for all of the information.
I’m actually watching a video on installing the PG9WLSHW8 right now.

A couple more question if you don’t mind.

It looks like the PG9WLSHW8 works with the IQ4 Hub?

Do you think I can use the wiring from that existing keypad to install a different model that will work? The old keypad is installed in our mudroom and it would be great to have a keypad installed there that could arm/disarm the system if needed. Or will it not be able to properly communicate through the PG9WLSHW8 to the IQ4 Hub/Panel?

Yes, the PG9WLSHW8 works with the IQ Panel 4 and the PowerG version of the IQ4 Hub, but not the legacy sensor (e.g. 319.5 MHz) versions.

You could use the existing keypad wire to add a DSC keypad to the IQ Pro but I recommend the new IQ Keypad instead. It’s wireless (PowerG) so you can put it wherever you want. It works with the IQ Panel 4 and the PowerG IQ4 Hub too.

One more thing to consider, if it’s something you care about, is using the IQ Hardwire PowerG (PG9WLSHW8) will convert your wired sensors to wireless while the IQ Pro would keep them fully wired.

Thank you Ryan, that is really helpful!
