I have tried connecting an Ecolink Z-Wave Plus Garage Controller to my IQ panel 4 with no success.
Upon pairing the IQ panel 4 seems to see it, but the garage door controller has a solid red light. I have tried clearing the device both from IQ Panel and using reset pin on the device itself with no difference the next time I try to connect. I also did sw update on the IQ panel 4… no luck, still a solid red led on door controller.
The controller is listed on Alarm.com, so I assume it is compatible with IQ panel 4. Is there a possibility I just got a bad one, or am missing some obscure trick to make it work?
That device should be compatible with the IQ Panel 4. I am showing that your IQ Panel 4 firmware is on 4.3.1 which is a bit out of date, 4.6.2 is the latest. Updating fw may help to resolve this issue.
I upgraded the firmware, still no luck.
I spoke with someone at alarmgrid where I purchased the item, they told me to power-on the tilt sensor, even though that is the second step in instructions after connecting the controller to the panel. This worked!
The solid red status LED on the door controller means it has not yet initialized the tilt sensor, not that pairing failed with Z-wave… this is not in the manual.
BTW, the new part number for the GDZW7-ECO is 0E-GARAGEZW. I got the newer one.
Thats good information. I can confirm the device is paired on the account, is it working via remote command?
The panel firmware is still reporting the older 4.3.1. If you navigate to Settings > Advanced Settings > About > Software, are you seeing 4.3.1?
