Hi all,
Just activated my Surety account on my Qolsys IQ panel in my DR Horton home (Home is Connected package). Panel is connected and showing Surety branding — everything went smoothly, thanks to the great documentation on this site.
My issue is that my three pre-installed Alarm.com cameras (2x ADC-V724X exterior cameras and 1x ADC-VDB750 video doorbell) are not showing up in my Alarm.com app. These were originally installed by Safe Haven, and the previous account has been released and deregistered.
A couple of complicating factors:
My WiFi network has changed since the cameras were originally set up by Safe Haven, so the cameras are not connected to my current WiFi
One of my rear cameras is mounted very high and I don’t have ladder access to physically reset it
I’ve already emailed support with the MAC addresses and device details for all three cameras
Questions for the community or Surety team:
Has anyone gone through this process of re-associating pre-installed cameras after switching from Safe Haven to Surety?
Can Surety/Alarm.com add cameras on the backend and push WiFi credentials remotely, or do the cameras need to be physically reset and re-paired?
Any tips for getting the cameras back online without needing physical access to each one?
Appreciate any guidance — this forum has been incredibly helpful throughout this whole process. Thanks!
We’re not able to push Wi-Fi credentials to offline cameras at this time, as there isn’t a way for that information to be transmitted to the camera aside from over Wi-Fi. The cameras would need to be accessed physically in order to add them to a new Wi-Fi network. We’re also unable to add them to an account remotely.
We do frequently have users switch from Safe Haven to Surety, especially with new builds, as Safe Haven partners with multiple large builders to install systems in new construction.
Steps to connect the cameras can be found in the guides below. Since they were previously connected to an Alarm.com account, they may need to be factory reset before they can be used on a new one.
If a factory reset is needed, those steps can be found in these guides:
