I have received tamper alerts when removing the panel. No big deal. No siren and my alarm group is not texted
Last night at 10:55 pm PDT, my group that gets texts when my alarm is triggered received a text thsat I had a panel tamper. This doesn’t happen when I normally remove the panel. The panel siren went off. This never happens
No one touched the panel. We were asleep. Dispatch did not call.
Why did this happen. What was different about this tamper to cause it to alert my alarm group the same way as if my alarm went off and how to I set it so it doesn’t do this again?
I don’t see any need to have people texted if I have a panel tamper

Looking at the Activity in Alarm.com, the panel was in an armed state (Armed Stay) when the panel was tampered. An alarm will occur when the panel is tampered and the system is armed.
No one touched the panel. We were asleep. Dispatch did not call.
Per monitoring procedure, dispatch did not call because the panel was disarmed just after the alarm, indicating all clear.
If the panel reports a tamper, and the panel was not physically moved at that time, the panel may not be connected to the back plate correctly, or the tamper switch is having trouble actuating.
My panel also had a tamper alarm last night at 11:06PM PDT. No one touched it as we were in bed. This is on an IQ panel2. Anyone else have a panel tamper last night?
According to alarm records there were three that generated an alarm, including both users here. The third was in the afternoon and repeated multiple times.
Tamper status is a physical issue. It is not something that is expected as a software issue, though I would never say anything is impossible.
A momentary or intermittent tamper typically indicates that the tamper switch for the panel is not depressed fully. This can happen for different reasons on different panels, but for the IQ Panel 2 specifically the back plate is pretty notorious for being difficult to snap on perfectly.
The white flexible antenna must be routed into the wall. It can get pinched in the back plate if left inside and may cause difficulty with closure, in addition to possible RF signaling issues. Usually though, the issue is just the panel back plate is not fully snapped all the way around.
If the back panel is warped on the wall from any bulging from wires or any other reason, it may cause the switch to be loose. I would recommend removing the panel and reconnecting firmly to the backplate to reseat it.
We followed the steps and had another alarm at 10:59 pm last night
It ended the tamper on its own. We were asleep.
The happens 20-30 minutes after arming only
We get no tamper alerts during the day.
Before when we would so much as slightly touch the panel we would get a tamper alert. Now we press hard all over the panel and get no tamper alert. Yet it goes off after arming
Is it possible the tamper alert is for the secondary panel? How do I distinguish.? I am at a loss as to what to do now and find it odd that a pattern is being set of 20-30 mi utes after arming
Try arming the system at a time other than evening, does the same issue occur?
Im showing several intermittent reports of panel tampers from different times, for example:
7/11/2024 2:22:22 pm
7/11/2024 11:29:11 am
7/7/2024 10:58:40 am
7/6/2024 7:46:51 am
With the system disarmed, open the panel. Does is report a tamper? Hold the switch down for a few moments, does it go away? When doing so, does the tamper switch appear to stick in any way?
When troubleshooting, you may want to place your 24/7 professional monitoring account on Test Mode during troubleshooting to avoid any false dispatches.
You can do this by calling monitoring operators directly at 855-348-0367 or from the Test My System tab in the System Manager section of your Surety account.
Should you need to, in panel programming under SECURITY AND ARMING you can disable panel tamper
Can you confirm that disabling panel tamper will disable alerts when not armed. However when armed I will still get panel.tamper alarms even with the setting disabled
Also, those dates you listed. for tamper were due to me installing an ethernet cable. The recent tamper alarms have been yesterday and the day before I I don’t believe there were other tamper alerts throughout the disarmed state during those days
In addition to the aforementioned troubleshooting, check the back plate. There is a post on the bottom corner that makes contact with the tamper switch when the back plate is mounted internally. Make sure that is making firm contact when the panel is connected to the back plate and the set screw is in place.
Also, check to make sure the RJ45 port is clearing the cutout on the back plate and not getting hung up, its possible that this is interfering with the back plate in some way. Unlikely but possible depending on how the panel is mounted (wall or table stand).
