Smoke detectors going offline and then online multiple times a day

Hello,

I have about 10 detectors and they all keep going offline at some time or another. I check and they’re not at their EOL. What can I do about this? Can I get a list of compatible detectors with the qolsys panel.

Thanks

The malfunction or offline trouble condition indicates the device, typically a sensor or Z-Wave device, is having trouble communicating with the panel.

Steps on how to resolve a malfunction can be found here

I am showing a couple different accounts associated with this Surety login but both use the same panel, the IQ Panel 4 with 319.5MHz radio, is that correct?

Can I get a list of compatible detectors with the qolsys panel.

A Qolsys IQ Panel 4 with 319.5MHz radio would be compatible with either 319.5MHz sensors or PowerG sensors. The wireless sensor options would be:

I am also seeing that both panels are running on old firmware. We recommend keeping firmware up to date to ensure communication, take advantage of new features, as well as bug fixes. Steps on how to update panel firmware can be found here:

Hi Tyler,

Thanks for the response. It’s the NJ panel. Looking at some old troubleshooting tips, would changing the frequency to RF319 help?

Changing the source would just instruct the panel to listen to the unencrypted transmission of any S-line sensors, and I wouldn’t expect that to have any impact on what you are reporting.

Do the smoke detectors themselves beep and flash their status LED? There are other conditions for some smoke detectors specifically that will cause an Offline supervisory trouble, like a dirty sensor status. The frequency of local LED flashes while a sensor beeps tells you what the status is. From the IQ Smoke Detector manual:

The first general step I would recommend is to follow Tyler’s recommendation regarding firmware. The panel is on very old firmware for the IQ Panel 4, so you would need to update incrementally. 4.2.1 > 4.3.0 > 4.4.1 > 4.5.2 > 4.6.1

I would recommend updating to at minimum 4.4.1. A guide with the necessary patch tags for each version is linked below:

Thank you, I will try updating the firmware.
