Onboard Wi-Fi will not enable. What could be wrong?
What happens when you try to enable it? Any error message? Or a pic?
What is the firmware version of the panel? You can update the IQ Panel 2 firmware via SD Card. This is likely necessary to resolve this issue.
Hello, and thank you for the advice. The current software version is 2.6.1. I downloaded the update and put it onto an SD card, but when I log into the panel and press on the software update button and then update via SD card, it says I need to mount the SD card. So, I go to the main settings page and then SD card and press mount SD card, but it doesn’t mount.
Make sure the SD card has no other files on it and is between 4 and 16 gb to ensure compatibility. It needs to only have the firmware files.
It sounds like the panel may not be able to read that card
That was it! Well, it’s upgraded to 2.8.1 now. The onboard Wi-Fi still won’t enable.
It sounds like you may be dealing with a hardware issue since updating the firmware via SD card didn’t resolve the Wi-Fi problem. One option you can try is performing a master reset on the panel. The master reset won’t revert the firmware, so you don’t have to worry about losing the update, but it will erase all programming and settings on the IQ Panel 2.
To perform a master reset on the IQ Panel 2, follow these steps:
- Make sure the panel is disarmed.
- On the home screen, swipe down to open the menu and tap on “Settings”.
- Enter the Installer Code or Dealer code. (Default 1111 or 2222)
- Tap on “Advanced Settings”.
- Tap on “Master Reset”.
- A warning message will appear. Confirm the reset by tapping “OK”.
- Wait for the panel to reset. This process may take a few minutes.
- Once the reset is complete, the panel will reboot and return to the default factory settings.
Gross! That does not sound fun at all. Will all of the sensors and devices need to be set up again?
There is a panel backup option available. However, please be aware that if there are any corruptions or issues with this data, they could be carried over when the backup is restored.
It appears that your forum account isn’t linked to a Surety account. If you’re not with Surety, you’ll need to contact your Alarm.com dealer for further assistance. Given that the issue remains unresolved with the firmware update, performing a master reset might be the most effective solution.
Send us a private message or via email to support@suretyhome.com from the email address associated with the account to submit the backup request.
Correct. My account is with ADT. I found this forum and wanted to troubleshoot/fix the panel myself. Using this forum has taught me quite a bit about my panel, so I appreciate the discussion.
After the update to 2.8.1, the cellular communication function no longer works, so there is no connection between my panel and the monitoring service. Also, the Wi-Fi remains non-functional, as well as (I suspect) other functions.
I have an ADT technician coming out on Friday, so hopefully they can fix it without replacing the panel. Otherwise, I will likely go with the IQ Panel 4 as the 2 and 2+ are either being or are currently phased out.
Your provider will likely try a factory reset, it sounds like it may be hardware failure but a reset is generally recommended as a step to be sure.
Yes, the IQ Panel 2+ production was discontinued 3 years ago. The IQ Panel 4 is the current model, with the IQ Hub and IQ Pro as alternatives.
Yeah. I just did a factory reset. Still no cellular or Wi-Fi.
Replacing the panel when it arrives.
