Have a Qolsys IQ4 with a Hardwire Translator 16F both installed since end of 12/2021.
This past Wed 12/4/2022 Qolsys IQ4 Panel Reports “Hardwire Translator - Low Battery”
Running MultiMeter on my disconnected UB1250 12V 5AH battery shows 12.93 Volts, 6.58 Amps. (Edit: I realize I may be checking Amps incorrectly on MultiMeter because the label on the front of the batter says Standby Use, Initial current 0.75A and Cyclic Use, Initial current 1.5A)
Connecting the battery to the 16-F and unplugging the 16-F Transformer the 16-F still continues to work.
Testing the 16-F battery wires connected to 16-F shows 12.96 V.
There have been no changes to the system.
No power outages this past week.
I’ve cleared ALERTS on the IQ4 panel and the error is gone from ALERTS but every few hours it beeps but does not show a NEW alert error.
However, running System Check shows:
! Sensors → Hardwire Translator (Low Battery)
I’ve found some other posts on this but no answer as to why this suddenly happened or a firm solution:
If this is a 5 year old battery and the Hardwire 16 is reporting low battery while connected, it is not holding the expected charge and should be replaced.
