The Qolsys IQ Remote PowerG is compatible with the
- IQ Panel 4, IQ 4 Hub, and IQ 4 NS
- IQ Panel 5, IQ 5 Hub, and IQ 5 NS
- IQ Pro
It is not compatible with the IQ Panel 2/2+.
Be sure to familiarize yourself with the Installation Manual before proceeding.
Minimum Software Requirements:
IQ Panel 4 series - v4.3.0+
IQ Panel 5 series - v5.01+
IQ Pro – v4.2.1n+.
Do this first before pairing
- Update the primary panel to the minimum software listed above first. Upgrade steps and firmware patch notes can be found here for the IQ Panel 4
- If the IQ Remote PG was connected to a panel previously, Master Reset the IQ Remote before connecting to a new panel.
Connect the IQ Remote to the panel
The IQ Remote can be paired via Wi-Fi or via PowerG. Qolsys recommends connecting via Wi-Fi first to initiate the latest software update. You can unpair, then re-pair via PowerG if desired after the updated.
WI-FI Pairing Steps:
- Enable Wi-Fi on the IQ Remote PowerG (same Wi-Fi network as the primary
panel). - From primary panel, start process for pairing IQ Remote using Wi-Fi.
- Press “Wi-Fi Pair” on IQ Remote PowerG enrollment page.
- The remote will connect and start looking for software updates (if a new
software exists, it will download and install it then go to home page).
PowerG Pairing Steps:
- On primary panel, Start AutoLearn process as indicated in the primary panel
manual. For manual installation, enter the Device ID 380-XXXX. Device ID can be found on the IQ Remote PG. - On the IQ Remote PowerG enrollment page, select “PowerG pair”.
- The IQ Remote PowerG will be recognized by the primary panel. Configure
options accordingly. - The IQ Remote PowerG will move to the home page.
If Wi-Fi is not available:
• Pair the IQR-PG via PowerG and ensure it is within ~ 20 feet of the panels built in access point
• On the IQ Remote-PG, swipe down the status/settings bar
• Press Settings
• Enter Installer/Dealer code
• Press “IQ Remote PG Upgrade”
• Ensure the device receives its software update
Troubleshooting
Panel Reboot
If the panel is experiencing difficulties you can often resolve it by resetting the operating system:
- Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds until a pop up message appears on the screen.
- Select “Power Reboot”.
- A pop up message will appear to confirm that the remote will reboot. Select “OK”.
- Wait for the IQ Remote PowerG to restart
Master Reset
Restores remote to factory settings and erases all content. Only appears
with dealer code (2222)
At the IQ Remote PowerG navigate to
- Settings
- Advanced Settings
- Enter Dealer Code (default 2222)
- Master Reset.
After Master Resetting, but before you attempt to re-pair with the IQ Panel, remove the IQ Remote from main panel programming. To do so, navigate to:
- Settings
- Advanced Settings
- Enter Installer (default 1111) or Dealer Code (default 2222)
- Installation
- Devices
- Delete from Wi-Fi Devices > IQ Remote Devices, or Sensors > PowerG depending on the installation type.
