Alarm.com lets you set up sensor activity notifications when a sensor becomes “active”, which for a door sensor means the door is opened. But what if you want to receive a notification when a door is closed?
Being notified when a door is closed isn’t possible in standard Alarm.com. It is, however, available with the Wellness add-on.
While not commonly used for security, being notified when a door closes is commonly used for helping protect loved ones living independently.
To get notified when a door sensor closes, use System Manager to add the Wellness add-on. Log into Alarm.com and do:
Notifications > New Notification > Wellness > Sensor Closed or Occupied
Then create your notification like any other.
