Hi,
I currently have a 2Gig GC3 panel and thinking about upgrading to the Edge panel. Will all of the same sensors, take-over modules, etc. work with the Edge? Will the GC3 remote panel with the Edge?
Thanks
Hi,

Sensors will, the secondary panel will not.
You would need to use the Edge Remote Keypad.
When you obtain the Edge panel and are ready to swap the panel connected to your active Surety subscription, visit the system manager here and use the Swap Cellular Module/Panel tool to change the panel that is assigned to your Alarm.com account.
Thanks Jason.
Does the swap module transfer the config (ie. sensors, takeover module) to the new panel?
No the settings are only transferred with backup & restore but it doesn’t work between GC3 and Edge.
I received the new Edge panel. Is there a process for moving the sensors from the old panel over to the new one? Do I need to remove them from the old panel first?
345MHz security sensors would need to be programmed into the Edge panel manually. While you do not need to remove them from the old panel, if the panel is powered on during the pairing process, they will trigger at the old panel. As such, you will want to power down the old panel.
Z-Wave devices in use need to be cleared from the network first, before they can be added. Clearing can be done from either panel, but you would need to pair them with the Edge.
You can swap to the Edge panel via System Manager in your Surety login when you are ready to associate it with your Alarm.com account. You will need the Edge panels 15-digit IMEI.
Sensor and Z-Wave programming guides can be found below:
When working on your system, you may want to place your 24/7 professional monitoring account on Test Mode during troubleshooting to avoid any false dispatches.
You can do this by calling monitoring operators directly at 855-348-0367 or from the Test My System tab in the System Manager section of your Surety account.
Another Edge question…
Should an AL624 power supply power the Edge panel, the Edge remote keypad and one takeover module? It worked for the GC3 panel, GC3 remote keypad and takeover.
On the Edge, when I connect the remote keypad, the main panel screen gets very dim and flickers.
In general I would always recommend powering each panel and keypad by its included plug in power supply.
In this case the Panel and I believe the keypads as well use a 14VDC 1.7 amp power supply each.
It looks like the AL624 provides 1.2 amps. That is also a 12VDC supply. Based on specs that will be insufficient and may chronically underpower the devices. It sounds like the Edge may draw more current at rest than the GC3 which makes the effect more prominent.
That AL624 should only be powering the takeover module.
