I have numerous Z-wave devices linked to my IQP4 panel and use the schedules on alarm.com to automate the devices. I currently have multiple lights (both switches and plugs) turn on/off at or around sunrise/sunset. However, the window shade schedule only offers “time of day” to set to open/close. How can I add the option for sunrise/sunset? Ideally, I want the shade to close as sunset each evening, so that we can enjoy as much natural light as possible but have privacy once it’s dark out since we are on a busy corner.
You used to be able to set the automation rule for shades for “sunset and sunrise” just like light switches. After as fairly recent update, that option was removed. I hope it can recommended to ADC to bring that option back.
The above is correct, Shades are not currently compatible with Sunset/Sunrise rules. I assume this is because they implemented one management solution for both Z-wave shades and Somfy Tahoma third party integration where it may not be a remote option.
We have requested sunrise/sunset as a feature enhancement.
