Yale Assure Lock 2

Hello,

I have attempted to set up the Yale Assure 2 lock through the add lock set up. I go through the steps, and it never seems to find the device. I try and try but it never works. I have restarted the device, factory reset it, I am at a loss. It is on the item list as being compatible. What am I doing wrong? I have been trying to connect it to my account for hours.

Those locks are made with a couple different radio options, and in particular, the one compatible with Alarm.com and the alarm panel is the Z-wave model.

If your Yale lock is a wifi model instead it will not be compatible at this time.

If you have the Z-wave version, are you running through the pairing steps in Alarm.com or directly on your alarm panel? When you start the pairing process in Alarm.com it is placing your panel into inclusion mode, then you need to follow the pair process for the lock.

A general guide to adding Z-wave locks is found here:

I am using the website to set up the lock. I can not find the option on the panel to set it up.

It is model YRD450-N-WF1-619

So you’re telling me that there is a model YRD450 that is z wave not WiFi?

I have attached the picture that shows the compatibility from the alarm.com website.

So you’re telling me that there is a model YRD450 that is z wave not WiFi?

Yes, there are Z-wave, Wifi, and Bluetooth models for the lock models.

Yale also sells Z-wave modules for the locks by itself, so you may be able to upgrade the current lock to work.

Great.

One last question, what is the difference between Z-wave and Z-wave plus?

I show two different models for the assure lock 2 with those different aspects.

Z-wave plus is the newer of the two, which offers benefits to range, battery life, and S2 security.
