For as often as I use my phone for the garage door, I think I’ll just stick with the free myQ app, or is there a compelling reason to pay $1/m for it?
There are reasons to want your garage door in Alarm.com but if you want that, I recommend sticking with the MyQ app and using a Z-Wave garage door controller to connect it to Alarm.com.
I’ve been debating the same thing. The potential benefits seem to be
1-One place to control/see status
2-Automations, like:

Auto-close when you arm Away / Night

Alert if it opens while armed, or opens at unusual times

“Left open” reminders (e.g., open longer than X minutes)
-
Schedules (close every night at 10:30pm)
