Why is MYQ not available both platforms?

I understand that MYQ is not available on the MyQ app if you link it with ADC?

This seems odd because Ecobee let’s you control Thermostats on their app even when linked on ADC

The reason why I am asking is that a previous post indicated ADC has no intention of being available on Carplay and it would be great to be able to open garage doors via MyQ on Carplay

Correct. myQ is either tied to the native myQ app or Alarm.com, not both.

Why is MYQ not available both platforms?

According to Alarm.com, LiftMaster states that having myQ on both the native app and Alarm.com could cause unwanted behaviors, potentially statuses not updating or equipment removing from the equipment lists.

If you want to use myQ with carplay, it would need to be removed from Alarm.com then added to the native myQ app. Otherwise, myQ integrated with Alarm.com can be controlled via the Alarm.com mobile app.

Understood. Just seems odd that Ecobee appearst to work both on the app and on ADC at the same time, so this would infer it could be done. Rachio too

It’s technically possible to work fine with both systems at once but would require more careful programming & management. This is purely my opinion but it seems to me LiftMaster is more motivated to build out their own smart home platform than to work well with others. For example, a while back they started charging Alarm.com just for access to MyQ integration. In comparison, it seems like Aladdin Connect is more motivated to play nice with other systems like Alarm.com. Why? Because business.
