I enabled Live Video View On A QolSys IQ Panel 4 and would like continuous video displayed, but panel video times out. I stopped Photo frame, but panel times out to black. I do have CSVR126 working as well. Used to stream on old Honeywell Lynx 7000, but am afraid Alarm.com or panel will not allow continuous camera video stream. I suppose a separate video panel direct to SVR is an option, but not preferred.
Turning the Display Type from Photo Frame to Off just means instead of photos it will show a blank screen as the screensaver. You can’t disable the screensaver, as far as I’m aware. I think the best you can do is set the Start Time to the max, 30 minutes.
That would be a nice feature to request from Qolsys. I’ll pass it along and see if they would consider a way to not turn on the screensaver when video is being displayed.
The currently available ways to display Alarm.com video without a timeout are:
- Use the HDMI output on the SVR. This would be the most reliable option.
- Use one of the Alarm.com Video for TV apps. There’s an Alarm.com Video app for Android TV, Apple TV, and Fire TV. These apps will display video without a timeout.
Thank you for the thorough response. Actually, the Honeywell Lynx video timed out as well unless a door was open/sensor activated. Enjoying the new panel, cameras, SVR and Alarm.com site. Account and equipment setup all went smoothly.
