How To Display Alarm.com Video Continuously

Alarm.com Continuous Video Display

Often people want to display live Alarm.com video continuously, without timing out, so they can always just see what’s on the cameras without having to open the Alarm.com app or website. Also, live video on the Alarm.com mobile app will time out after 3 minutes of viewing.

There are two options to display Alarm.com video continuously, without timing out:

  1. Use the HDMI output on the SVR.
  2. Use one of the Alarm.com Video for TV apps.

SVR HDMI Output

Alarm.com SVRs have an HDMI output that you can connect a TV to and display live camera views indefinitely. This is the most reliable option as it doesn’t depend on your Wi-Fi network.

To view continuous video using the HDMI output on the SVR, simply connect a TV to the SVR using an HDMI cable. The following SVR models have HDMI outputs.

  • ADC-SVR210
  • ADC-SVR122
  • ADC-CSVR2108P/2116P
  • ADC-CSVR2000P/2008P/2016P (2 x HDMI outputs)
  • ADC-CSVR126

Alarm.com Video For TV Apps

There’s an Alarm.com Video app for Android TV, Apple TV, and Fire TV. These apps will display video without a timeout. This is often the most convenient option as you can steam the video over your Wi-Fi network and don’t need to run an HDMI cable.

The Alarm.com for TV apps bring a video-focused user experience to the TV. You can view all of the cameras on the high-definition screens on a user interface optimized for use from the couch.

View up to four simultaneous streams at one time. If you have more than four streams, the feeds rotate out every 10, 20, 30, or 60 seconds, depending on your preferences.
