We are moving into a new home that seems to have ALARM.com system using Vector security as the service supplier. From what I can tell, they use QOLSYS. After using surety, I never want to go anywhere else.
As a new owner, is there anyway to convert the system easily to surety? I would b e surprised if the installers would be keen on giving installer codes, etc. There are apparently 30 sensors and it would be nice not to reprogram them.
Happy to help! Yes, if they have an IQ Panel 2 or IQ Panel 4 at the location, as long as the prior Alarm.com account linked to it has been cancelled you would be able to reuse that panel with Surety.
I am linking a guide to using an existing IQ Panel at the bottom. If the Alarm.com account was not cancelled and the prior owners can’t assist with getting it cancelled, you could reuse all the existing sensors and any Z-wave devices with a new panel.
Have you checked the IMEI? You can do so here to see if the panel is still registered.
Thanks. We are in the inspection stage and I will check tomorrow. It is apparenly a new system. I could likely reset by current IQ4 panel and swap it out after reprogramming but it would be easiest to convert
