While adding a new smoke/fire detector, I somehow accidentally set it off. I immediately cancelled it on the main panel. About 10 minutes later, the fire department showed up :o (there was a missed call from Monitoring, but I wasn’t paying attention to my phone because I wasn’t expecting a call). Why didn’t it get cancelled?
Disarming the panel does not stop dispatch on life safety alarms. A fire alarm signal will result in dispatch unless it is verified as a false alarm with the monitoring station.
Disarm (abort signal) disregard of alarms only occurs on burglary alarms.
