Smart Arming Disarm Failure

@surety just checking back in on this to see if there has been a response from ADC.

They have not contacted me but I just called to see if there is an update and they ask if you can perform a power cycle so that the system performs a zone scan.

Power cycle completed. MODEM COMM displayed so zone scan was completed. Will see how it behaves in the morning.

@vidail can confirm behavior has not changed since power cycle. You can see my morning activity the disarm was triggered by the wireless motion in the office not the wired motion in the living room.

I have updated from alarm.com

There is a SEM update that is not available on my end but they can send this. Would it be okay if they can send this now? The system must remain disarmed for up to 2 hours but it should finish before that.

Is it okay to send now?

@surety you can send the update now.

@vidail you can send it when you’re ready.

@surety can we do anything with this is ADC not available on the weekends?

Sorry for not replying sooner. Normally, we can send firmware updates ourselves. But in this case Alarm.com shows that no update is available on the partner portal. We will have to wait for Monday when the person Vidail was speaking with can send it. We apologize for the inconvenience. Someone should have let you know sooner.

Thank you @ryan.boder thats what I figured. Appreciate the apology. I do have questions that are addressed in my PM. I would appreciate a response so I can understand the forum better.

Hello,

Sorry about the delayed response over the weekend.

The update can take up to an hour and cannot be armed or disarmed during that period. Once you send the approval to send the update, it could take around 30 on my end to send since I will be contacting alarm.com for it. Could you let me know when I can send the update?

Thank you

@vidail please send the update.

Had the update been sent. @jwcsurety is asking me to try an automation test real quick.

Not yet, I’m currently on hold with alarm.com. You can go ahead and test the automation. It will probably be sent in about 10-15 minutes or so

Testing completed. You can push the update.

It actually falls into 2 updates. The first update can take up to 30 minutes and the second update can take up to an hour. During this time, it is important not to arm the system.

The first firmware update is being sent now

@vidail This is a full release not some beta correct? Just worried that Surety could not deploy this but had to come directly from ADC. I heard the first update initiate on the panel.

Hello,

Per alarm.com, it is not a beta firmware. It is a release but it has multiple requirements of the panel in order to be able to send it. If these requirements are not met, it could cause issues including needing to replace the cell. They double checked your account and this firmware update was compatible with your system and cell. They weren’t able to confirm but I believe this may be why it isn’t given as an option to us.

The firmware update has been successfully processed by your panel. On our side, the system looks to be running normally. Please test the panel by remote arming and disarming as well as let us know if you have any troubles on the keypad

Thank you

Confirmed able to remotely arm and no troubles on the panel. Just to be clear this firmware should fix the smart arming features?

They mentioned that this firmware does improve the system status and the zones status reported to alarm.com which should help with the hardwired motion not disarming the system in smart disarm.

Once you test this, please let us know if it worked for you or if you are still having issues.

Thank you
