My system has been working fine but this week both my sub panels at the entry doors would not connect to the main IQ panel. I have tried, resets, Forgetting the Wi-Fi network, entering the IP address directly and nothing seems to work.
All the panels are connected to the same Wi-Fi and have IP addresses. I can also confirm that they are connected in my router device table.
Any thoughts?
Just to add my Main panel is the IQ 2
I just ran the diagnostic function on the remote panel and it failed the Wi-Fi test. Although the remote unit is connected to my router/network and I see it in my router table with an IP address
Is the IQ Remote mirroring the IQ Panel 2 screen, or is it showing the default disconnected screen?
Did you Master Reset the IQ Remote secondary panel (from the default screen menu in the top right hand corner)?
Have you tried pairing via AP mode?
As a test, Master Reset the IQ Remote secondary, reboot the router and the main IQ Panel 2 (settings > Advanced Settings > Reboot). Once booted up, wait 5 minutes and check to ensure that you are connected to the local wi-fi network.
Additionally, make sure you are on the latest firmware version for the IQ Panel 2. 2.8.1 is the latest.
Hi Tyler,
I did a master reset and reboot on both remote panel and main. I do see the IQ main panel along with my Wi-Fi SSID when I click on the IQ panel it asks for a password. Can I pair with it directly that way. Is the password factory set?
The remote panel is showing the disconnect screen. I will need to check on the firmware version.
You can try the built in access point mode for the IQ Panel and connect the remote directly to that.
The settings and password are found on the panel under Settings > Advanced Settings > Installation > Devices > Wifi Devices > Access Point Settings.
Jason,
I set up the AP on the IQ Panel. Then went to the remote panel and connected to the IQ master Panel. It connected fine, but still shows the pair/test screen. When i try to pair it wont. When I run the test it fails…
If that IQ Remote was reset it will need to be deleted from the main panel and relearned. The IQ Remotes are still showing in Alarm.com with their old installation date. That pair process needs to occur with the main panel again.
- At the IQ Panel 2, navigate to Settings, > Advanced Settings enter the Installer Code (default 1111) > Installation. > Devices > Wi-Fi Devices.
- Select IQ Remote Devices, delete the old instance of the Remote, then press on Pair.
- At the IQ Remote , select Pair to connect it with the IQ Panel 2.
Jason, that worked!
Thanks and Happy New Year
