Panel not updating firmware from USB

I have a 2Gig Edge panel and remote keypad. The remote keypad is inside and will randomly set off a tamper alarm. I disabled the tamper alarm and thought I was good, but it went off again today. I was told by support that I need to upgrade to firmware 3.13 as I’m on 3.12 and also said that the remote keypad may not be mounted right. I removed the remote keypad, moved any possible wires out of the way and re-mounted it. I also used a Windows laptop to reformat a 2Gb USB drive in FAT32. Then I downloaded genesis-meta-C.3.1.3.011-image-xaez.2gig from Alarm.com and put it on the USB drive in the top directory. I removed the USB cap from the panel and inserted the USB drive. I saw the light on the USB drive blink a few times, but the panel did not tell me new firmware was found. I went into the toolbox after entering the dealer code and went to the Versions, but it said no new firmware was found. I tried rebooting the panel a few times, re-inserting the USB drive, re-downloading the firmware, but I am still not able to get the panel to see the firmware. I see the light on the USB drive blink a few times when I reboot the panel or insert the USB drive as if the panel is accessing the drive, but it still does not initiate the firmware installation or let me know there is a new version. Any suggestions on what may be causing this so I can upgrade the firmware?

The process is pretty much plug and play. You should get a pop up message upon inserting the USB flashdrive then youll have to click Update to start.

Make sure there is only 1 partition on the flash drive and try the process again. If you have a different USB drive, try that as well.

From what page/source did you get the firmware file from?

Firmware can be found via the below link:

If needed, we can send an OTA update over Wi-Fi to update.

I realize the process should be plug and play, but it did not play for me! There is only one partition on the USB drive and I will try another USB drive. I got the firmware file from 2GIG Edge Firmware Updates - Alarm Grid. The link you reference is an older firmware version. I want to give this another try. If it still won’t automatically update, then I will move forward with OTA. Thank you for your reply. I very much appreciate it.

If needed, the firmware for 1.3 is found further down on the page through the link I provided.

I found the link you mentioned. I formatted two other USB drives and downloaded the firmware from the file you posted. The first of the USB drives I plugged in was immediately recognized and I got the prompt to update the firmware. The update worked flawlessly and I verified that the remote keypad also updated after the panel was done. Thank you for your help.
