I have battery motion sensors that when the battery is low I get a notification.
The problem is I am getting an email notification every one minute so when I wake up in the morning, there are 300 emails. Is there a way to make it that there is only one email sent every 24 hours or equivalent?
That seems abnormal. The motion detector must be sending low battery signals to the panel over and over again. You could disable low battery notifications until you have a chance to replace the battery.
I have about 20 of these and they all do the same thing. I guess I could do that but seems to defeat the purpose
I’m not seeing low battery events for other sensors, but there is one specific sensor which is resulting in Low Battery notifications followed by “End of Low Battery” notifications, repeatedly.
This is unusual and may suggest an internal failure of that motion detector, reporting its status to the panel repeatedly. I would recommend powering off that detector for a full 2-3 minutes. Then after a few minutes put the batteries back in. Do the alerts stop?
Can you provide a time when any other sensors did this same behavior? I am not seeing any low battery trouble conditions for any others.
About 3 months ago all of them hit end of life and I had hundreds of notifications. I had to reset the entire panel which I did so it may have wiped them? I have the same type of wireless motion so they all do the same thing
The latest other one was in August 14 :
My Surety System: The Library Motion reported a Low Battery at 12:59 pm
I would recommend upgrading firmware first. Firmware updates on the IQ Panel 4 are incremental and it will take 3 updates to get to the latest version. Patch tags are required. Instructions on updating the firmware are in the link below:
It’s definitely unusual and unexpected to be seeing repeated low battery and end of low battery reports. I do see a couple for a couple other sensors now mixed in.
So Ive made it to 4.42. When I enter iqpanel4.5.0 as the next one it just says no update available. Do you have to do something special to get to 4.5.0?
They may have pulled that due to a potential issue with PowerG Hardwire takeovers interacting with that 4.5.0 update. It was replaced with 4.5.1 just yesterday it looks like.
