Hi, I just purchased an IQ4 panel from Surety and setting it up for the first time. The quick panel giude that came with the panel did not include any instructions for connecting the battery before powering on. When i first tried powering it on, nothing happens when holding the power button. After i connected the battery, the unit powered on finally. Now when i go through the setup, the “Checking System” startup procedures show “Battery not connected”. The battery is in fact connected, otherwise it wouldn’t have power on. I also reseated the battery 3 times and i hear an audible “click” when it’s secured. Any ideas?

I don’t recall seeing that before but I wonder if it will go away when the battery charges up?
It’s super annoying that it doesn’t tell you to connect the battery in big letters on the package. Are we supposed to just know that?
I waited 45 minutes and it finally came online. My thought was that the battery was dead and needed to be charged a certain amount before it’s connected. The instructions should be clear and not skip over this step.
There’s this but if you don’t know to look for it…

Thanks Rotter Man. It was in fact the Battery. I left it alone for a few hours after turning it on and the battery charged and any low battery alerting went away.
