Hi everyone!
According to surety I’m the first person to use the new AI Deterrence feature through surety from ADC. Thought everyone might like to see what an AI deterrence rule does. And yea, I was near my back door and in all blue
Just fyi I changed into dress clothes and tried again and it even specified LIGHT BLUE POLO SHIRT AND BLUE PANTS!
Awesome, I’m glad you like it! We’re excited about it too. Alarm.com video just went from yet another camera system to something more effective and, as far as I can tell, unique.
I just tried it on the ADC-V515. Yeah, this is great! It would be more useful on outdoor cameras. I need to get some.
I read that ADC raised the monthly limit on events per camera from 15 to 30. Does this also apply to the Surety AI Deterrence plan?
It appears you are correct. I have to admit, that’s news to me. Good news! I’ll make sure we get our documentation updated.
Does AI Deterrence have an audible method of notification to the customer? With Alarm.com’s current camera monitoring the rules allow it to record on motion, but I don’t see a way to make an audible notification like with the Ring cameras? Ring can make a doorbell like ringing sound when there is motion which is useful in giving the homeowner situational awareness.
Just to clarify, are you referring to separate audible alerts from the camera, or do you mean a unique alert on your phone?
AI Deterrence works in conjunction with Alarm.com video analytics rules, and notifications would be sent based on your analytics rule, which can be email, sms, or push notifications.
Under sounds in the Alarm.com app settings you can adjust notification sounds for alarm events, silent alarms, and non-alarm notifications. There is no unique category for AID, but I can forward this as a feature request to Alarm.com to potentially have unique sounds for analytics notifications, or RVM events.
I am referring to having the phone make an audible alert when Alarm.com detects motion on the camera.
Your phone will make audible alerts based on your phone’s push notification sound settings when a video analytics rule sends a notification.
Make sure in your video analytics rule that your desired push recipients are selected and make sure on your mobile device that your notification sounds are not muted.
Here is a guide showing how to set up notification recipients within the video analytics rules:
Do you get audible alerts for any Alarm.com push notifications on your phone? What model of phone and operating system version are you using?
In case you are not getting any push notifications:
