My garage door has a bad motor. It is being replaced on Monday.

  1. How do I remove my old garage door - MYq with a gateway?
    2 How do I add MYq87504 to my account?
  2. Do I need the gateway with the 87504?

myQ Garage doors can only be removed from Alarm.com by the dealer at this time. When you need it removed, just submit a PM with the name of the garage (if multiple are in use) and we can send that command.

myQ can be added via the Alarm.com website at any time. Just navigate to Settings > Manage Devices > Add Device to get started.

Looks like that overhead unit is myQ compatible and has built in wi-fi so you shouldnt need anything else. Looks like that unit has a built in camera which could not be used with Alarm.com.

So I do not need my existing Gateway anymore?
Do I need to install in myQ app first to connect to wifi or do I bypass that and just got to alarm.com.

I thought when I originally installed my old one, I did not use the MyQ app. Thanks!!

Correct, if the new garage door opener has MyQ built in then you don’t need the gateway. Just connect the opener to Wi-Fi.

You would add it directly to Alarm.com using the Alarm.com website, don’t use the MyQ app. Instructions for each type of opener are available here.
