Low battery alert on panel won’t resolve

I had an alert on my IQ2+ for low battery on a glass break sensor so I replaced the battery but I’m still seeing low battery in the alarm.com app. Additionally the panel keeps beeping as well. Any advice?

I think it would eventually go away on its own. Have you tried dismissing the alert?

Yeah I did. It’s still showing in alarm.com app as a notification though

Hmm. Is your panel software up to date? It’s a long shot but maybe there is a software issue that may have been fixed?

Thank you. I did an update (not to 2.8 though) and it seemed to resolve my issue

Awesome! You still probably should update to the latest though to avoid other potential issues.

There are usually a couple main reasons why a low battery condition won’t resolve when you replace with brand new batteries.

  1. Battery Polarity. If the battery polarity is wrong when reinserted the sensor can’t power up to signal the panel. A reboot or firmware update would hide this until supervision errors occur later.
  2. Batteries too quickly inserted. Many sensors require about 60 seconds of batteries being removed to fully discharge residual power on board. Glass breaks typically do. If you replace the batteries quickly it is a pretty common issue that the low battery condition won’t resolve. Firmware updates may hide this too.
  3. New batteries are actually low. This is unlikely but can happen. Make sure all batteries are replaced at the same time, do not mix new and old.
