Knock off 2 gig dw10-345 on ebay.

So I got some 2 gig sensors cause I needed the pigtails for some of my windows I was adding glasshock too.

So long story short I got these on ebay as bulk packaging and I recieved this.

The 1 pic has a genuine sensor in the pic for reference.

I guess I am not following you…the image looks like a DW10…so what is the “knock off” you refer to?

Can you try posting lower res images?

So the sensors you received from ebay are not DW10s, but were advertised as such?

What model number is on what you received?

the solution is easy if you didn’t get a 2GIG DW10.

You leave negative feedback in that you did not receive what you ordered (10x 2GIG-DW10, flying wire leads, etc), and ONLY change the feedback (if seller requests) AFTER the seller sends you what you ordered,

else;

a: request return
b: file a dispute with ebay/paypal (or your credit card company) in that you did not get what was described.

sorry about that.

Left is genuine right is fake. The color is an off white too.

do the leads work with one on right?

I requested a refund already. I figured someone at surity could pass this on to their contact at 2gig. It’s probably better coming from a vendor then a person off the street.

This is my second try getting new genuine sensors. I had a guy on amazon try to pass off used sensors as new. And had to make them pay the shipping if they wanted them back.

No, the connector is thicker and dose not work with the 2gig sensor.

the color is not an indicator. it may mean it is just old. all mine from 5 years back are that color now. (may indicate it is used)

the newer sensor (relatively new) I have, looks like the one on the left, but the one on the right, may just be an older model.

Brand new.

The circuit board is black not green. There is a date of manufacture of 10/15 printed on the back of it too.

I know what it is.
it is not a 2GIG DW10 sensor, but is a Honeywell WC10-345 which is compatible with 2GIG. the main concern for you though, is the 2 wire lead (and is not 2GIG brand).

Here is what the cover for a WC10 looks like:

That part number come up with the knock offs from overseas copies.

it is not a 2GIG DW10 sensor, but is a Honeywell WC10-345

It isn’t Honeywell-manufactured.

Best I can find is “Sentek” as far as a manufacturer goes.

Indeed looks to be just an off-brand version of the DW10.

Sentek…

Response from seller.

Hello,
These are 2 Gig DW10 Compatible sensors. We are the manufacturer and operate in Carrollton, TX.

We have been selling these sensors for almost 4 years to installing dealers. You should have no problems. In fact, the 2Gig original has a current failure rate above 15%. Our defect rate is below 1%. As always, if you experience any issues, regardless of EBay purchase. Our warranty to you is 2 years. You may call my cell at 214-868-1947 or visit our website at ShopIHS. We are on EBay primarily to attract new dealers across the country.

BS.HE IS NOT THE MANAUFACTURER.

also, tell him the 2 wire connector is not compatible with your 2GIG (different size)

state this (and include with ebay dispute…you may though want to download/upload linked images for proof):

“I want my money back or I will request it through ebay buyer protection as I did not get what was described (e.g., “New 2Gig / Vivint Wireless thin door window contact & magnet”, and “Model: DW10-2”). I purchased a lot of 10 2GIG-DW10 sensors, I did not get 2GIG “Dw10” sensors, instead I received knockoff Chinese made Sentec model WC10-345 sensors, that have a 2 wire flying lead that is not compatible (does not fit/different size) into the existing 2GIG DW10 (J1) connectors as shown. The WC10 you sold me does not have a J1 connector compatible to 2GIG DW10” (see url link image) http://s23.postimg.org/pgvyzxumj/Capture.png

Sentec Chinese WC10-345:

What you sold me (WC10-345) http://s10.postimg.org/5trla4e9l/Capture.png

Simply put, what I received are not model DW10 as described in listing. The listing states DW10 is the model of the sensors for sale. The model of sensors received was WC10-345. You as the seller are responsible to accurately list the product you are selling and not mislead buyers into thinking they are getting an item that they are in fact, not getting.

So the owner of the company called me today. He use to work at linear and long story short got with sentek and had them copy the dw10-345 sensor with his designs and input.

Has sentek make them in China and then imports to the us.

He is selling them to 2gig installers so they can increase their profit by using these sensors and not genuine sensors. So the average smuck wouldent know the difference.

His Web site has them listed as comparable and he is updating his other listing to reflect the proper terms.

No issues with a refund.

He is blowing smoke up your arse (isn’t his “website” an ebay store? "david c wallace’ only has 159 sales). That (if even true, which I highly doubt) is called intellectual property infringement, and is very illegal. The design may even be trademarked.

I would leave negative feedback, and file dispute with ebay.

Once you leave the negative feedback, not only will you warn others, but he will then be more inclined to work with you and issue your refund.

Interesting. Might have to test a couple for giggles. The failure rate claim of 15% for DW10s seems a touch exaggerated in my experience.
