I use Routines on my iphone to run a command to open my garage door through alarm.com. When it completes it tells me audibly I should enable push notifications. However on the iOS settings and Alarm.com app, it shows the push notifications are enabled and notifications are enabled.
Anywhere else I need to check? Anything I need to do to solve?
To clarify, this is the Siri voice providing a response to the routine running? This is likely a general recommendation for push notification confirmation of the commands, but if you already have push notifications enabled there would be nothing to do.
Does the routine run anything in addition to Alarm.com?
yes, its listed and voice announcement is enabled. I wonder if the latest “enhancement” (you posted about on another thread) for garage doors impacted this. It was working fine for weeks and I haven’t changed anything
These should not have any impact on Siri voice announcements. Do you have any other shortcuts to perform other actions? Try another non-garage automation. Do you get the same response?
I don’t receive the announcement unless connected to carplay. If I do it without being connected to carplay through Siri, its fine. I checked the setting on the actual carplay display on the car and in the settings all settings for announcements are turned on
We’re still trying to determine exactly what settings normally trigger that message and whether it’s ADC or Siri that determines if it is played or not.
What version of the Alarm.com app are you using? This can be found in the About section of the Alarm.com app.
Do you have critical alerts enabled for Alarm.com?
Update. It’s asking for me to turn on notifications when I open and close the doors. Not just on open. However the fact that it only does it when connected to CarPlay is still true.
