IQ5 release date

I know they just announced the IQ5 panel. Any idea on the release timeline?

I am hearing that it will likely be later in the year or possibly early 2026 for the release, but nothing firm yet.

It is similar to the current IQ Panel 4, with some improvements related to the OS and hardware, and using Android 14. The IQ Panel 4 does not have any timeline for end of life yet and I’m told will still be sold for a while.

Visually it doesn’t look like they changed much. Touchscreen seems same size rather than edge to edge which is what I was hoping for.

Is upgrading a panel painful as in you have to unpair and repair every sensor?

If you swap the panel manually, then you’d need to reprogram all of the sensors to the new panel. Unpairing security sensors isn’t required, but you will want to exclude Z-Wave devices from the old system if possible. You can then use the System Manager tool to swap the panel on your account.

There is also the backup and restore option. This is available when swapping between certain panels of the same brand. This process typically allows you to skip programming security sensors, panel settings, and user codes.

The backup and restore process will likely be available for users upgrading to the IQ Panel 5, but we don’t have any confirmed details.

More information about swapping the panel on your Alarm.com account can be found here:

That’s not too bad. My lights are on Lutron so the only Z-wave devices I would need to port are my two door locks. It’s doable. Let’s see how the specs of Panel 5 are.

Just got an email notification from Johnson Controls “The IQ Panel 5, IQ5 Hub and IQ5 NS are now shipping to your local distributors”. Do you guys have an ETA of when you’ll have for sale? Thanks.

No ETA on availability or pricing from distribution just yet. My best guess is mid February but it could be sooner. They will be up on the store page once they are available.

Do we know if the current IQ Remote PowerG Secondary Touchscreen will be compatible with the new IQ Panel 5?

About at 39 minutes.

Yes The IQRPG is compatible with the IQ Panel 5.

Thank you for that information. I watched the portion of the video linked above that addressed secondary panels. They mentioned that they were going to release a newer version of the PowerG secondary panel. Have you heard anything more about those plans? If so, is there an ETA on them?

No ETA on an additional IQ Remote secondary at this time. Qolsys typically posts product pages on their website when products are releasing soon however.

Good afternoon! My IQ Panel 2 screen has gone bad show multiple images. Do you have ETA when Surety will be offering IQ Panel 5? In particular IQP5017 or IQP5001?

Still waiting on distribution to receive stock, no ETA at this time. Compatible equipment does not need to be purchased from Surety in order to be used with service.

Have you performed any troubleshooting regarding the screen issue you are encountering?

I tried a regular reboot though the menu. Yesterday I tried a hard reboot hold button for for approximately 30 seconds. The only thing I haven’t tried is power off and unplug power and battery. I kind of planned on buying IQ Panel 5 at some point. The only good part is we primarily use the remote and that still is working fine.
