I made a search but could not find a response to my question.
Does anyone know in what firmware rev did the port got disabled?
I purchased a 1208 IQ2+ panel with FW rev 2.3.2 to replace the one I had that went bad during a firmware update. the system came with the SRF-319 card I installed the SRF-345 card from my old panel in Slot 4 so that I can talk with my Honeywell sensors and all was working well. I then upgraded the firmware on the panel and the SRF-345 stopped communicating, it would not even shoe under the module test.
I then swapped the SRF-319 to Slot 4 and the SRF-345 to Slot 3 and now the SRF-319 is the one that is not responding. Based on this it looks like that at some point in a firmware rev, Qolsys disabled Slot 4.
Thanks for the reply. The 345 module had no issues on Slot 4 with 2.3.2, even the key fob was working with no issues. I then upgraded the panel using the SSD card procedure, as the panel is not monitored nor on an Alarm.com account, to rev 2.8.1 by upgrading to 2.42 > 2.62 > 2.72 then 2.8.1 based on some recommendations that I found on the Alarm Grid site.
Just wanted to make sure that the update would not brick the panel as it did to my original system. But, I unfortunate did not verify the 345 card functionality along the various upgrade until I was at 2.8.1 at which time the card was not being seen.
Yes, I did perform a complete power down via the menu and then disconnect both power sources, ac then battery. The card is the QS-SRF345 P/N QC0005-840.
Either card does work on the same slot on the bottom, I believe that it is slot 1.
The top slot has the Power G, the middle has the Z-Wave, and the bottom has the 319MHz, so I installed the 345MHZ on the vertical slot next to the terminal block and all was working until the update to 2.8.1.
I read something that slot 4 is only for the Power G or the imaging card. But the 345 was working fine in slot 4 with 2.3.2. So my guess is that Qolsys made some changes to limit what cards that get installed where.
I am happy to reach out Qolsys to check on specifics, just need some additional information first.
2.3.2 is really old. To confirm, the 345card worked in slot 4 on 2.3.2 along side the 319 card being in slot 1, you could use both 319 and 345 at the same time?
Did you test compatibility with any of the the other firmware release regarding slot 4 or did you go all the way to current 2.8.1 before testing?
→ “did you go all the way to current 2.8.1 before testing?”
Yes. I upgraded the firmware by loading various versions in between, but did not test if the cards were responding until 2.8.1.
→ “Ultimately, what are you attempting to do?”
I would like to have both cards in, just in case I would use the 2 types of transmitter switches in the future!
Qolsys representatives confirm that the ability to use both the 319 and the 345 cards at the same time was never intended and would be considered a bug. As such there doesn’t appear to be any documentation on which firmware removed the ability to use both in the manner described.
Unfortunately without the ability to test, I could not say which FW version wouldve caused that.
