IQ Panel 4 not powering on

I purchased a used new in box IQ panel 4 and am unable to get it to power on. I have went through the trouble shooting steps for battery discharge but could still not get it to work. Are there any other steps I can take to troubleshoot?

I am assuming that since I bought the panel used from a 3rd party I would not be eligible for any warranty that Qolsys would offer.

I purchased a used new in box IQ panel 4 and am unable to get it to power on. I have went through the trouble shooting steps for battery discharge but could still not get it to work. Are there any other steps I can take to troubleshoot?

How is power being supplied to the panel, via the included 7V power supply and cable (barrel connection) or via the 7V power supply and an existing cable run?

Do you have a multi-meter? If so, test the power supply.

Is the internal battery plugged in?

Are you holding down the power button for 3-5 seconds to turn it on?

I am assuming that since I bought the panel used from a 3rd party I would not be eligible for any warranty that Qolsys would offer.

Surety is only able to handle warranty requests on equipment purchased through Surety. Warranty is typically handled by the dealer/distributor the device was purchased from.

I am using the provided power supply to power it but do have have a multimeter.

The battery is plugged in and have held the power button for 5+ seconds.

you can try removing power and battery, leaving the whole panel disconnected for around 10 minutes then reapplying battery then power supply and powering up again.

Based on the troubleshooting done, either the panel is bad, or the power supply is bad. It should be the 7V power supply and test as such.

Double-check that the outlet it is plugged in to is working and not switched off. Panel should not be plugged into a switched outlet.

I have removed the battery a few times and reconnected everything and know that the outlet itself works.

Could the battery be bad or is that typically not a common issue?

The IQP4 will not boot up without the battery connected initially, and there are steps as you mentioned to resolve drained battery issues (printed below). Are you getting any LED or screen activity or is everything completely off?

First power down the panel and open it up. Check to make sure the internal battery has been plugged in. Then close up the panel and reconnect to power.

Next, hold down the power button for 3-5 seconds. You should see an Android logo then a Qolsys logo. This is what you should see when the panel boots up. Does it?

If there is no feedback from the panel after pressing the power button and the display and LEDs do not show, then the panel battery is likely discharged. To troubleshoot:

  1. Check that the battery cable is properly
    inserted into the connector.
  2. Insert the AC power plug into the
    appropriate connector.
  3. The LEDs should begin to flash Red,
indicating the panel is charging. The LEDs may remain
flashing for up to 30 mins while the panel charges. The
panel will boot once it receives sufficient charge.

However, After the charger is inserted and the power button has been pressed and there is still no feedback from the panel and the display and LEDs do not show, then the panel battery is likely deeply discharged. If that is the case, try the following:

  1. Unplug the battery, unplug the AC power.
  2. Reconnect the battery only.
  3. Insert AC power plug, wait 5 seconds and then remove.
Repeat this up to 10 times until the LEDs continually flash
Red indicating that the battery is charging.
  4. The LEDs may remain flashing for up to 30 mins while the
panel charges. The panel will fully boot once it receives
    sufficient charge.
  • Note: If the LEDs stop flashing Red and the panel does not boot, go
back to the previous step (Step 3).

Yes, I have tried everything there. There is has not been no light at all, but I will be getting a multi-meter today to test thee power adapter.
