If you find that your panel unresponsive there are a few things you should check.
-
Has the panel lost power?
- Did the whole residence lose power, or just the panel?
-
Can I interact with the panel, or is the screen blank?
- Are the LEDs on and if so, what color are they?
- Is the screen black, or does the backlight still turn on?
-
The panel is plugged into power via an AC transformer into a power outlet:
- Is the outlet off/not working? Check to make sure the outlet isn’t switched off
- Try a different outlet as a test
-
How is the panel powered? It should always use the included power supply and either:
- The included cable, or
- An existing cable run that meets the specs outlined in the manual on page 11.
-
Power cycle the panel. Leave the panel off for at least 20 minutes. Steps on how to do so safely can be found here.
- Check to make sure the power cable is firmly attached and wiring is not loose or corroded.
- Check the internal battery to ensure it is not bloated or disconnected. A bloated battery is bad and should be disposed of.
-
If powering down via the steps in Step 5 do not resolve, try it again but do the following:
- Power Up the panel with just the AC power connected, do not plug in the battery;
- Power up the panel with just the Battery connected, no AC Power.
Note: If able, check power supply with a voltmeter to ensure the power supply is producing the correct printed voltage.
