How To Clear a Phone Line Failure from an Interlogix NX panel

The Panel Phone Line Failure trouble condition indicates the panel’s attempts to dial out using the phone line were unsuccessful.

If Alarm.com is the primary means of communication and there is no phone line connected to the panel, the monitoring station information and settings need to be deleted from the panel programming, this is typically the cause for the trouble condition.

  • If there is not a phone line attached to the panel, it is required to remove the monitoring station information programmed in the panel since the information is stored in the Alarm.com module instead.
  • If this is the case, location 2 (i.e., feature 2 on a touchscreen keypad) is where this information is kept in the panel.

  17. Press [Exit][Exit] to exit panel programming.
  18. Power-cycle the panel locally to ensure these settings take effect.

To ensure these settings take effect, it is required to perform a local power cycle of the panel after clearing the monitoring station information. If a local power cycle is not performed after making changes, the phone line failure message eventually appears again.

If you use Alarm.com through Surety, it is also possible for remote commands to be sent to remove the above information from panel programming. If you would like us to send these commands, you can let us know by sending us a Private Message or Alarm.com Ticket (for account verification purposes).

A Power-cycle of the panel will still need to be performed locally to ensure these settings take effect.
