How To Clear a Phone Line Failure from a Honeywell Vista with SEM

To clear a phone line failure on a SEM-Honeywell/ADEMCO Vista:

Typically, this can be resolved automatically. To do so:

  1. Verify the SEM is the only communication path for alarm signaling to the monitoring station. The SEM is not compatible with phone lines (POTS) or other communicator modules. If a phone line is connected to the panel, disconnect it.
  2. Power cycle the system.
  3. Verify a successful zone scan occurs. When the SEM scans for zones, it automatically programs all of the required settings in the Dialer Programming sections (41, 42, 43, 45, 48, 49, 64).
  4. It should finish in about 10 minutes. Once it is done, let us know and we can send commands to resync the system (during normal business hours.
