Hardwire question for old system

Hello,

I’d like to get started with Surety and wire my existing system to a new IQ5. Which do I choose? the 16F(large)? the IQ hardwire Power G or the hardwire 16f small enclosure?

I would pick between the 16F large or the IQ Hardwire PowerG. The small enclosure would not allow for a clean install.

The IQ Hardwire PowerG does have a few more features like the 4 on board PGM’s, it can handle both 2 wire and 4 wire smokes, and is expandable up to 40 zones with IQ Hardwired Expansion Card but only 2 expansion cards fit in the enclosure. While it can be expanded to more zones, it starts with 8 zones. The Hardwire PowerG runs on PowerG communication. More information on PowerG below

The 16F cannot be expanded and would require a second 16F if you need more than 16 zones and can handle 2-wire smoke detectors. The 16F runs on 319.5Mhz.

I just did this myself. I used the PowerG translator. For a few dollars more it has more room and the Power G interface. Plus it’s expandable if you have more than 8 wired zones.

This is great. Exactly what I needed.

One last question, is there an installation video for the powerG hardwire when I purchase it?

Currently we only have a guide but we might try and upload one in the future.
