We are exploring a Flologic leak detection and auto shutoff system for a new-to-us home. Insurance is requiring a whole home automatic detection/shutoff system (trying to avoid Moen Flo). The home has an existing hardwired system that we are taking over with a PG9HRDW8 and new IQ 4 panel and remote.
I wasn’t sure if it is possible to automate the PGM on the translator via ADC to set the leak detection panel into it’s away state when the panel is “armed away”. From the limited info i can find about about the PGM output programming it looks like they should accomplish this?
@FranklyMyDear Thanks for these. I should have been more clear the insurance requirement is for plumbed automatic shutoff. Water Dragon is interesting but would need to be paired with a valve actuator. The types of shutoffs that are permitted would be Moen Flo, Phyn, Streamlabs Control, Flologic, Watts LeakDefense, etc.
Flologic looks to be a step up from Flo/Phyn (replacable parts). It’s explicitly not smart (no machine learning, trending, behavior mapping etc) so no suprise activations while showering unless you exceed the duration. For this system I would like it to be separate (outside of this one integration for arming state), with it’s own battery backup. These are not cheap but once installed should be good for a long time

The output programming can be done on the panel and system arming status changes can be selected as the trigger.
Thanks Jason! I assume I’d also be able to use one of the translator hardwire zones as a Water group 25 - non-reporting / “Other” so we get panel/app alerts should the plumbed in leak detector trip?
No, going with the Streamlabs Control. A friend has had one for several months now and I couldn’t justify the additional cost for our house. Both use ultrasonic measurement vs impellers.
I spent entirely way too much time studying how to connect the Flologic to our system. In our house the alarm panel and the valve are on opposite sides of the house with no easy path to run a wire. Floglic recommends a MIRCR15 wireless relay. You can do it far cheaper with Home Assistant and a Yolink Lora relay. Set an automation in HA to change the relay open/close on arm away vs arm home or disarmed. Happy to elaborate if thats of interest.
With streamlabs I can automate the home/away states in HA with direct API calls no need to run wires or deal with relays.
Thanks for coming back for an update. I’m landing on using a PG9WLSHW8 to integrate. I have an IQ4 and can add a second wireless to wired panel. It connects with powerg and I’ve found my other adapter for my wired sensors to be reliable. It has enough pgm and zones to accommodate the security system wiring diagram for the Flologic valve. I also have watercop pro and a moen Flo so I may run two in the same water main bypass loop.
From all my reading that should work no problem but if you have the inputs and PGM available on the wired panel but I’d defer to the Surety team. You should be able to get state change via the PGM and alerting of any leak via aux input. 3 devices on one loop!
