Insert the sensor’s batteries and press and hold the learn button (located under the plastic casing of any given zone) until both LEDs light solid. The panel should automatically recognize the wireless sensor and ask to confirm the sensor’s ID, usually found:

  • on the box
  • on the sensor’s housing near the learn button
  • on the PCB

If the panel does not recognize the sensor, manually enter its ID on that same screen and move through the rest of programming (assigning the zone a label, partition, and definition).

Enrolling zones in multiple partitions

The DSC PowerSeries Neo allows zones to be enrolled in multiple partitions. Additionally, the sensor will not go into alarm unless all partitions that it is in armed. This is a hardcoded panel setting, not an Alarm.com setting.

Note: Sensors in multiple partitions report in the lowest partition number to which they are assigned (e.g., a sensor in partitions 2, 5, 6 and 8 will display as only a partition 2 sensor), but will still operate as expected.

Troubleshooting

If the zone is not communicating:

  1. For a Not Networked zone trouble, tamper the sensor a few times and re-secure the plastic housing. If the batteries are left in a sensor too long before it is enrolled in a panel, it leaves auto-add mode — tampering causes the sensor to start reaching out for a panel again.
  2. Verify the ID in the panel matches up with the ID on the sensor. To verify the sensor ID:
  3. Press [*][8] to enter programming.
  4. Enter the installer code.
  5. Press [804] for the section.
  6. Press [990] to Show All Devices.
  7. Press [001] to view the Zones.
  8. Scroll to the zone to view its ID number.
  9. Press [#] to exit programming.
  10. Verify supervision for the zone is set to Y. This indicates the setting is enabled. To verify zone supervision:
  11. Press [*][8] to enter programming.
  12. Enter the installer code.
  13. Press [804] for the section.
  14. Navigate to the zone to verify either using the arrows to scroll or enter the 3-digit zone number (i.e., for sensor ID 3, enter [003]).
  15. Press [*] to configure the zone.
  16. For Supervision, press [4] to toggle it to Y.
  17. Press [#] to exit programming.
