Alarm.com says I need to change from SMS to Push notifications

Turned off my alarm system today and received a message from Alarm.com saying that because of upcoming changes to AT&T’s SMS system, I would need to change my settings from SMS to Push.

Can’t say I’ve heard of anything along these lines and am curious as to what’s up with this and how much truth there is in it.
