I’d like to integrate my inter-connected smoke detectors with my alarm system. I have wired a Zooz ZEN55 DC signal sensor into the smoke detector chain and have been able to connect it via Z-Wave to the IQPanel 2. Once I updated the panel software, it seems to be active as a smoke / CO detector, but is listed as “Other Device”. Is there anything additional I need to do to use it to trigger Fire and CO alarms?
This is not possible. Z-wave sensors are not compatible with the system and cannot be used to trigger any alarms. Z-wave is used for automation device control, like lights, locks, thermostats, etc.
Only signals from compatible RF sensor radio models can be used for alarm activation. It looks like you have an IQ Panel 2 with 319.5Mhz radio. For interconnected smoke detectors, the 319.5Mhz Firefighter sensor linked below can be used to monitor a circuit of interconnected smoke detectors:
