I have a Zooz ZEN34 scene controller configured to open my gate and garage door when I arrive home. I am currently using the LiftMaster/MyQ cloud integration through Alarm.com.
The setup technically works, but it is not very practical for the gate because triggering the gate from the scene controller initiates the LiftMaster safety warning delay before the gate actually opens. This causes me to sit in the road blocking traffic while waiting for the gate to start moving.
There is no such delay when using the OEM LiftMaster remote, presumably because the remote is considered a local/on-site control device.
My question is:
Is there any way to eliminate or bypass the gate opening delay when triggering the gate from the ZEN34 scene controller through Alarm.com?
I considered replacing the cloud integration with an Ecolink controller, but my gate operator is outdoors in a non-hermetic enclosure and is solar/battery powered, so I am not sure whether the Ecolink would be appropriate or reliable in that environment.
Does Surety have any recommended approach for achieving near-instant local gate activation from a scene controller without the MyQ remote-access delay behavior?
