Z-Wave Thermostat Not Following Schedule

We haven’t heard any specific updates yet. We’ll check with Alarm.com today and see if they have any news.

A timeline like what you are referencing for a bug/hardware fix is not commonly available and unlikely. It could be a simpler cause and be a quicker resolution, or it could be complex and require a lot of troubleshooting. Usually fixes are fairly quick for wider model-specific bugs. We’ll follow up here with what we find out.

Thank you Jason!

There are no specific updates yet, only that they are investigating the behavior on Trane thermostat models. There is a wide investigation ticket, not just individual account tickets, so it is known as a bug. When we hear an update we will post to this thread.

Adding on to the group of people with Trane thermostats not running the schedules from ADC anymore. Southern California is just now getting cool enough consistently to notice if the heat isn’t running correctly. I have two thermostats and neither one picks up the updates. I can change the temp from ADC without issues generally (Although in the logs will often times see two or three updates for each change, once to 2F and 3F and then usually the correct temp). Hopefully they get this fixed soon as I’m not great at remembering to change the temp manually every morning and evening.

This is the behavior that I’m seeing. At the designated schedule time I get a text message that says the temp has been set to 2F and then I get a second message that it has been set to the designated temp, but nothing happens at the Trane thermostat. Nor does the Smart Away drop the temperature setting that I have set. But I can control the temp through the mobile app.

Not happy Alarm.com, I spent good money for this thermo and don’t really want your’s that has less features.

I’ve reached out to ADC again to see if there is any update available regarding Trane thermostats. Will report back when we hear from ADC techs.

Thanks Jason! We’re all waiting for this fix as Winter approaches. :frowning:

I just noticed that my ZWave thermostats are now following the alarm.com schedules! I’ve been able to adjust them all without issue. Hopefully they are working for everyone else.

I manually set a schedule on my Trane thermostat but finally gave up on Alarm.com fixing the schedule issues and last week installed an ADC-T2000. I got a good price for it but it kinda sucks that I had to go to that length to get my rules and schedules working again. The thing I wanted most was the “Away” temp when we leave the house and set the alarm.

Thank you for confirming. We will verify with ADC that the overall issue was fully addressed.
