Z-Wave Stopped working

All of my devices can no longer be found. I tried pairing and nothing will pair either, it just times out.

So your devices are no longer visible or controllable on the panel itself?

Did someone perform a Z-wave controller reset? When did you notice the devices missing?

Z-wave devices themselves link to a parent controller, so you would need to use “Clear Device” on each of them first before Adding them back. Press Clear Device and press the pairing button/sequence on the Z-wave device. This will clear the link they have saved and allow you to add again.

I was trying to add a Harmony Hub to the system and followed the instructions to uncheck the primary Z-Wave. After that a rediscover network showed all devices were unreachable. I deleted all devices from the system, rechecked primary controller and rebooted the panel. I can’t add a thermostat or lock at this point. I will try the clear device now.

Ah, yes, if you add another controller, it must be the primary controller, meaning that all Z-wave devices should be learned into the other controller first, then pair that controller with the alarm panel.

The Alarm panel should not have devices learned into it directly if you intend to use a separate controller as well. The Qolsys alarm panel can only be secondary.

So to clarify:

  1. Clear the device links. You can do this from Qolsys or the Harmony.
  2. Learn everything into the Harmony.
  3. Pair the Harmony and Qolsys. If compatible, the Qolsys panel will receive all the compatible devices learned into the Harmony.

The Harmony didn’t seem to work and never paired so I just tried to put it back to the way it was and it lost everything. I did just do the clear and have been able to re-add all of the devices except one that is a little hard to get to. Thank you for your prompt response.

Happy to help!
