Yale smart lock as alarm sensor

I would like my Yale smart lock ( Yale Assure Lock SL) to serve as an alarm sensor. I.e. if the door is opened when the alarm is armed, then it would trigger the alarm to go off. How can I set this up?

Z-wave devices cannot trigger an alarm.

The best you can do with a Z-wave lock is setup a alarm.com text/email/push notification if the door is unlocked/locked. On some panels, you can also turn on a vocal annunciation/chime on that will announce state changes to the lock (Ex. “Front Door Unlocked”).

If you want the door that the lock is installed on to be part of the alarm perimeter, you’ll have to put a RF door/window sensor on it. Compatible sensors will depend on your panel type. Luckily, most magnetic door/window sensors are inexpensive.
