I had to replace a GE wall switch that got fried with a Linear wall switch. The light will turn off and on and the LED works, but it won’t pair with the panel.
I have tried removing it first and have brought the panel right next to the switch but nothing works. It just never gets recognized.
Is it possible I just have a bad switch?
Silly questions, but:
Did you power off that circuit before installing? There is an internal fuse in the switch which can be blown.
Make sure you are also not exceeding the maximum load:
Maximum Load: Resistive: 15 amps (1800 watts) maximum, 120 VAC
Motor: 1/2 H.P. maximum, 120 VAC
Incandescent: 600W maximum, 120 VAC
Also, how are you physically using the switch when trying to include/remove? Try in remove mode tapping the lower portion of the switch twice very quickly.
