So the last firmware will give dual communication, I hear (I think I read that here on the forum.) Does that mean it now uses wifi for commands like zwave stuff?
That is absolutely correct. With version 1.4.1 the IQ panel allows for dual path data communication. All commands, including those you send to your Zwave devices, will communicate over your WiFi if you have it enabled and connected to your network. When the command is processed by Alarm.com, it does a check to determine which is the best method of communicating with your system, either network or the cellular connection.
