What am I doing wrong with the upgrade to 3.1

Hi,

I am trying to update my GC3 firmware from 3.0.2 to 3.1

I am downloading 3.1 from the link provided by SuretyDIY. I right click the file and save to the USB.

It is saving as a chrome.htm file.

When I plug the USB into the GC3 it is not seeing the file.

Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks

It is saving as a chrome.htm file.

The firmware file should read as a .2gig file.

Just left click to download (sounds like you may be saving the page?).

I am sure it’s user error. I will have to try a different laptop.

The strange thing is when I save the other firmware updates to my thumb drive they do save as .2gig files. For whatever reason the latest update saves as a chrome.htm.

I will try a different machine.

Thanks for the help.

Hmm, that is strange. I can confirm it’s a .2gig file. Download link is direct 2GIG download (all of them are).

If you try a different browser, any luck? If so let us know what browser, OS, and version you are using which failed.

A different laptop worked.

The laptop that wouldn’t save the file correctly was a Dell running Windows 10 Home, Version 1607. I tried using Internet Explorer 11 and Google Chrome.

The second laptop, which downloaded the file correctly, was a very old Gateway running Ubuntu.

Thanks again for the help. The update was successful.
